Science Summit at UNGA77
With the invitation of Declan KIRRANE， Chairman of Science Summit at United Nations General Assembly (SSUNGA77) , USCCM Director Xuekai Zhang attended the Meetings in person in New York on 20 September 2022. Dr.Zhang made a physical presentation lecture titled "The innovation of traditional medicine - The Chinese Medicine case".

In the lecture, Dr.Zhang briefly introduced what is Chinese Medicine, the Health view of Chinese Medicine, how to achieve Health with Chinese Medicine, the reaction balance of Chinese Medicine as well as the detailed innovations of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The detailed innovations of acupuncture included the modern needles with different materials and shapes, the worldwide use of Chinese acupuncture and modern research of acupuncture. The detailed innovations of Chinese herbal medicine included the modernization of Chinese herbal medicine, the Tu Youyou example,that is how the 2015 Nobel Prize winner in Physiology or Medicine found Artemisinin for the treatment of malaria. Her words “Artemisinin... is a true gift from old Chinese medicine. But this is not the only instance in which the wisdom of Chinese medicine has borne fruit.”gave significant impact to those experts attended the meeting. The application of modern technologies and modern control systems like GAP, GMP, GLP, GCP, GSP and GUP also gave those experts great influence.
During the discussion part, Dr.Zhang further pointed out that the studying and applying of traditional wisdom in Chinese Medicine in modern society is very important. We should further explore the great treasures of Chinese Medicine and boost the health of worldwide population.
There are six experts attended the part in person, and 66 experts from all over the world attended the meeting online through zoom.
